Hallo Zusammen!
Hallo liebe Gemeinde!

Re: Hallo Zusammen!
Try it in english, most germans do understand it, but maybe they will answer in german.
The "Winter GT" is a special mod done by a german tuner and consists of more boost (static setup) and (sometimes) different intercoolers. Gives you around 370~400 "real" HP.
Most of us have done different modifications, but the german traffic tech authority ("TÜV") limits things you may do with respect to traffic and driving safety.
Regards,
Stefan B.

Re: Hallo Zusammen!
Winter GT's are tuned by a man called Norbert Winter. He offers different mods so not every Winter GT is the same. Basically he developed a custom exhaust system, bigger SMIC's with changed pipe routing and raised boost pressure through a fixed restrictor in the wastegate vacuum line.
btw. most of us understand english but if you need translation feel free to pm me.

Re: Hallo Zusammen!
Hi,
mitsublue posted a complete list of a Winter-GT's specifications on this thread: http://www.gt-driver.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=259
I bet a common web translator can translate his post for you
Although, i'm still not sure what exactly was changed in my GT since the turbochargers/oil cooler etc. are rather... unaccessible from above and I still haven't found the time to get it to a ramp. Documents about the tuning are unfortunately lost.
I wouldn't be surprised if I find some "extras" crept in since the top speed I reached was 304 km/h (GPS measured!)

Re: Hallo Zusammen!
Thanks for the link, very interesting read
So am I correct in saying that about 77 Winter-GT variants were produced and not all the same modifications (a lot less than the 30 Beckenbauer Edition cars)?
Also that red 3000GT posted in the linked thread above has 12" wide rear tires?? It looks also to have wide wings/flares, how many like this were produced with 12" wide rears?
This is very interesting to me because on the U.S. and Australian forums we do not hear much about these special cars. Also do the cars come with a plaque or certifiacte of authenticity (like the Beckenbauer Edition had the gold plaque on the center console), post up some pictures if you have them

Re: Hallo Zusammen!
Norbert Winter is a aftermarket tuner so all "Winter GT's" startet life as normal european twin turbo models. There's no plaque or certificate or something like that. AFAIK MMC Germany had nothing to do with those. Norbert Winter (owns a Ford dealership now) is still working on GT's from time to time so we can only estimate the total number of GT's he's done.
I've seen a widebody Winter GT once in person but I don't have any more info on how many he made or how the mod was done. My guess would be less than a dozen are out there. Maybe someone else knows more.
The Beckenbauer GT's where the only official limited edition GT's marketed by MMC Germany. Those actually were the last 30 Gen1 GT's imported to Germany and where imported as standard euro tt's as well but repainted and modified by MMC Germany themselves. Basically only cosmetic changes were made. Apart from maybe the catback exhaust which was made by Remus, a well-know German exhaust maker. The rest was the non-standard yellow paint, OZ Futura wheels, a wireless telephone, real signature by Franz Beckenbauer and I think thats about it. Really more a marketing stunt than anything else.
